In our October Issue we introduced The Wedding Ball.  Well, the invitations are out and it's time to share the Mandatory plus one invite with someone special.  This installment of The Bu is for our male readers especially.  Ladies, think of it as the prom and just hold your horses.

The question is a familiar one... "Something Old, Something New, or Something Blue?"
The Wedding Ball is a magical experience.  Not only is it a Wedding, but it's the most romantic, the most extravagant, and talked about affair.  Here's the question beneath the headline question.  "So what do you with that mandatory plus one invite?"  In something old, the options are ditch and deal with the consequences.  This is a tough matter if you're in a long term but dead end relationship that is just comfy for everyone.  In something new, it's an awesome thought if you're in a budding relationship and you think you may want to set the stage for what's next.  But if you don't want to jump the gun.. then avoid the stage.  In something blue, the options are tricky.  Perhaps your invite was all you needed to begin to contemplate that dead end relationship, and now you're ready to "Have the Talk".  And I also guess this means you're not planning on missing this event if your life depended on it.  So, now..  who do you take?  Please don't push the envelope and take a pal, or you'll be having "The Other Talk".  It's just not that kind of party unless it's real.

Question: What is your state within the Union?
It's a question that comes early or late in life.  It's also a question with limited answers.  Though there may seem as though many... the options in this issue of "How Many Flags" are just two.  Parent or Child?  Believe it our not, but the way we move about is a reflection of how we ultimately see ourselves within the scope of these two roles.  We the People or "For the People".  A child's view is simple.  It's we the  people, and although it believes it has many rights, it's not prepared to fight for any of them.  It's voice is one of a child and not a rude one, but the best one you could have.  The parent's view is complicated.  It's "For the People" and it comes with many responses and responsibilities that keeps the four corners of our society from meeting in the middle.  The one who believes that the societal structure and the purpose of the union is for the people is ultimately empowered, while the one who see their self as just one among many, is no doubt disempowered.  In Revelation 7:1 four angels are holding back the four corners of the earth from the four winds that they may not reach any tree...  A wise woman once said "We don't come like grass with no roots, but like trees".  Can you see your tree?  And will you defend it?  Questions!   I was thinking.. because I was reading and it's been said that squares don't fit into circles.  Then I thought... in the case of cropping as in an image; one can get a square out of a circle and one can also get a circle out of a square.  The question then becomes, what is left behind.  If I crop a circle out of a square I'm left with 4 corners.  But when I crop a square out of a circle all I am left with is something resembling a bib.  And this was the reason for the different choice of question marks in our graphic leaflet for this issue of "How Many Flags".  Left the parents fill the squares.

It's my favorite staple.  It's our segment in branding.  Though it's difficult because it means that I must continue to grow and learn and think and be taught.  That's difficult; if not in action certainly in the feeling nature.  In this edition, the idea is "The Tripod Effect" and the sentiment is "Build the Pillar First"!  Anyone who is effective at business will soon realize that there's always room to spin off.  But before you go spinning... Build the Pillar First!  Pillars often come in stone or some strong and reliable material, and if you've been following our branding advise on the blog, then you know from Capture: A Brand Story that Ivory is suitable.  If you take  a look at the graphic, then you'll see that the back legs are not nearly as strong as the pillar, but they come in neon or should I say with some flair.  Another important thing to notice is that the back legs aren't really needed as long as you have bolts.  Therefore they are compliments not supplements.  If you build the pillar first, you can apply or remove the back legs at any time and still remain definite and strong.   So before you get moving, stop and consider what is needed to properly structure and build that pillar brand or business and do not pass go until you do.
