The Better Fly Series: Genus

Welcome back to The Better Fly Blog Series.  It's Business.  It's Spiritual.  It's Heart. And it's also Soul.  How could you not be better!   I'm enjoying writing this series and learning as I go, and I hope you're enjoying it too.  This is the third blog of the series.  Today we look at genus; a group or class of things that have common characteristics and can be divided into subordinate kinds.  In terms of groups, genus falls in between family and species.  But how does this bring us to our next meal in this series?  Today we look at competition.  It's a vital part of constructing a business plan.  We've all heard the question, "Who's your competition?" or "Have you identified your competitors?"  Usually, to answer this question, most entrepreneurs or business start ups look in the market place for other businesses that appear to be doing the same things they hope to do.  This is not a bad approach, but what if I tell you that

Embodiment

Embodiment should always look and feel like "The Power of Notion"! (Click on the image for a clearer view)

The VCR Diaries- Act 3, Part 3

The VCR Diaries: A Poetic Documental based on the Novel Erased  Act 3- Reece, Part 3 Ever seen a tiny branch form right out of a large branch?  There’s no succession; no respect for season.  You blink and there it is.  It appears weak in contrast, until you see a squirrel sitting there.  There’s no sway.  There’s no bounce. It’s there and it’s meant to be there.  My life is the tiny branch, but my breath remains a set of wings… again, one tiny and one large.  You should see it flying through the sky; my breath.  If you can capture the image, you’ll say it’s not going that far.  Yet you travel the valleys, overcome the mountains, get to your next peak, and there it is. The lights are back up.  The jaws are fully in place now and we can proceed.  This is the last few drops of blood red ink; the way they fell on the page. Survival Instinct  Instinct is an animal, Intuition is a human, I’m part animal. The larger wing belongs to the animal, And the pretty

The VCR Diaries- Act 3, Part 2

The VCR Diaries- A Poetic Documental based on the Novel Erased Act 3- Reece, Part 2 It’s still hard to see.  The room is filled with projections.  It was a sharp turn back there, and if they didn’t grasp the context of the documentals two acts ago, now they’ve got it.  I’m the child.  Cassie is the single adult, and Veronica is the mother.  We’ve all faced a trap or two, and we’ve all left it face down.  From here, I grow up quickly.  Swapping Dreams I still remember her, Her dreams, They’re brutal. She still recalls me, My visions, They’re crucial. Sometimes they’re one and the same, Other times they're two. Her cheekbones are high, Her forehead hard, Her mouth glued shut, For the most part. I’m outspoken, And I hide my cheekbones behind a smile. When she looks at herself in the mirror, She quivers, And she knows she doesn’t belong there. I stare, She stares back, It’s the promise in me that chills her, And

The VCR Diaries- Act 3, Part 1

The VCR Diaries: A Poetic Documental based on the Novel Erased The Lights have dropped.  It’s not a total black out.  Not yet anyway.  You can hear the questions and the whispers.  None of them however are stronger than the darkness.  Reece is the last woman standing, and her platform is beginning to look like a trap.  It remains erected, but it’s obvious she’s going to need to move around.  It’s the look on her face that sends this message.  It says she’s got a head full of thoughts.  It’s not even on her chest.  No, it’s right at the tip of her tongue. Her Diary- Reece It looks like a little black book.  The pages are red with blue lines, and there aren’t much of them.  I told you… it’s all in her head.  The handwriting is large at times, and at other times small.  It’s the difference between her whispers and her shouts.  It’s also the difference between her secrets and her attire.  It simply looks like a small book with a big roar, and if it doesn’t start talking, the c

The Better Fly Series: Multifaceted Eyes

The Better Fly Blog Series: Multifaceted Eyes You’ve landed.   Now what?   Perhaps it’s taking you a moment to level with the fact that you had to ground your flight.   It’s a bit of a rehabilitation, and you need to learn to walk again.   You look at your wings and they look as good as new, and every time you take the glance you’re disappointed to know that they’ll just be sitting there for a while.   The weather is just not good for flying, and as we know from the first blog, there’s a beast in the sky.   Welcome back to The Beauty Inside-Out Beautician and The Better Fly Blog Series.   In this second blog we’ll spend some time talking about nurturing the mental garden where your dream resides.   This garden is going to require more than just flowers; more than just good thoughts.   You’ll need to populate this mental garden with insects too.   Today, we look at the dragon fly and its multifaceted eyes.   I’ve learned that dragon flies actually have 30,000 facets within
