Overcome (OVRC): A Blog Series_ 2

You've just landed in Overcome: A Blog Series.  You're in the right place at the right time.. Today's blog is Overcome Potential.

"There's never been a box quite like potential.  Show me a six walls waiting to swallow you up, and I will show you Potential."

Like the skin we wear, potential comes like a second layer of skin.  It's easy to see, and it speaks everybody's language.  It's like a God; invisible and visible.  Like a cloud.  There and not there.  Sometimes it changes size.  Other times it remains as is.  Either it's too big or too small, and the only time it ever fits is when it transforms into somewhat of a gas.

Locked in potential a dream dies.  Locked away by potential it lives forever.  It breathes.. it sings.. and yet it doesn't dance, or fly, or call any shots.  Locked in potential; that's the enemies hand.  Locked away by potential; that's the dreamer's way.

Right now, there's a boy or a girl trying to decide what potential he/she will be.
There are choices, but few.  It's doctor, lawyer, nurse, fireman, teacher.  The rest are potentials away.

Right now, there's a mother trying to decide what potential he/she will be.
There are choices; not one but two.  It's great or indifferent.  Gone is no choice.  Neither is missing.  One's power.  One's a budding potential.

Right now, there's an Adversary looking for potential he/she does not have.  There are several choices.  Steal, Become, or Overcome.  The one who decides to steal comes with a resource.  The one who chooses to become never comes, and he who overcomes learns by trying all the choices.

The difference between an adversary and an opponent is not the referee, but the rules.  You rule!  Overcoming potential is won in the dark.  Overcoming fear is won in the light.

Right now there's an opponent with his or her hands on the rules.  He/She studies til when the book hitting the ground resounds.  There are too many, and her eyes are heavy.  But she overcomes each time she reaches to pick it up.  It's an exercise built in to the rules.  It's the stretch built into the exercise.  It's the eyes to see where it's lying.   It's the will to point at it.  It's the step she didn't need to take.  It's the breath she still counts as a loss.  It's this rigid examination of the facts.  It's the bold overlooking of blood stains.  It's the force to speak after spoken to.  It's the refusal to stop.  It's her ability to discover a new top, and her failure to not leave a map.

Right now at the sound of this voice... Go Overcome Potential.
